REHOBOTH, 10 MAY – The Hardap Region selected a strong 42-member team for the inaugural National Youth Games underway in Windhoek.
The games commenced Thursday and end Saturday.
Hardap will compete in athletics for people with disabilities, football and netball.
Team Hardap Manager Ivan Pieters told Nampa on enquiry Thursday they have a strong line-up of footballers for both the male and female teams, which he believed will bring gold medals home.
“Our preparations have been very good and we have been camping for twee weeks during which coaches worked intensely with the teams,” Pieters remarked.
The games will be used to select a national under-20 team to represent the country at the Region Five Games in Gaborone, Botswana in December.
