Standard Bank support to boost Okamatapati Expo

WINDHOEK, 15 MAY – the second Okamatapati Tourism and Trade Expo is expected to be even bigger and better than its predecessor.

These were the sentiments that were reinforced by some of the members of the Okamatapati Tourism and Trade Expo organising committee during the events sponsorship handover on Friday, 11 May at Thuringer Hoff Hotel in Windhoek.

Standard Bank as the main sponsor of the expo handed over an astounding N$40 000, and also offered its financial/business services to the budding entrepreneurs of Okamatapati.

“We at Standard Bank are pleased to be a steadfast partner in contributing financially to the 2018 Okamatapati Tourism and Trade Expo and wish them great success. We are very proud to know that our contributions will help boost trade and economic development of Okamatapati and Otjozondjupa Region as a whole,” Standard Bank’s PR and Communication Manager, Surihe Gaomas-Guchu said during the Handover.

She explained that the expo serves as an ideal platform to enhance economic competitiveness and creativity within the trade and business sector. Additionally, it also highlights opportunities for tourism, investment, and cultural exchange.

“Namibia is our home and we want to drive her growth. Not only is this growth for Okamatapati, but also relates to the bread and butter issues of local entrepreneurs taking part in this expo, where the growth of their business is of vital importance to us,” she stressed.

Tjihana Kahorongo, one of the expo’s committee members, stated that while the expo hand been a success last year when they hosted it for the first time, Standard Bank’s support would only catapult them to greater heights and attract more investors to the area.

“This sponsorship will foster a successful long term relationship between the Bank and the people of Okamatapati. We intend to plough back this sponsorship into the community for its development,” he stressed.

In conclusion, he commended the Bank for always being willing support and create platforms that aid entrepreneurs to flourish and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

The Expo is scheduled to be held from the 28th of May to the 3rd of June 2018 in Okamatapati Auction pens. – NDN Staffer
