PC Blue Boys aim for maximum points going forward

REHOBOTH, 31 MAY  – Southern Stream First Division Inland Stream basement dwellers PC Blue Boys are aiming for maximum points in the remaining games to fight for promotion.
The blue and white outfit from Mondesa will battle it out against Walvis Bay’s Western Spurs on Saturday before taking on Northern Stars, also from Walvis Bay, on Sunday.
After three games so far, the Swakopmund-based team has only garnered three points.
Blue Boys coach Christy ||Guruseb told Nampa on Thursday they need to work on their concentration.
“We have been conceding silly goals. We need to be switched on in the games and organise ourselves defensively to not let in goals. We are now regarded as underdogs and our aim is to pick up as many points as possible as there are only 10 games left to win our stream,” ||Guruseb said.
Last weekend on the road, Blue Boys did not collect any points from a possible six after they were routed 5-2 in Windhoek by Khomas Namibian Police (NamPol) in Windhoek on Saturday, and hammered 4-2 by Okahandja’s Spoilers on Sunday.
In other Round 5 matches on Saturday, Spoilers welcome troubled Khomas NamPol to the Nau-aib Stadium at 14h00, while in Swakopmund Blue Boys will confront Western Spurs at the Mondesa Stadium.
Sunday’s Round 6 matches will see log leaders Flamingoes go head-to-head against neighbours Western Spurs, with Blue Boys engaging Northern Stars.
Meanwhile in the Inland Stream’s Round 5, relegation threatened newcomers Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) will battle fast improving Windhoek United at the SKW A Field on Saturday at 18h00.
Ramblers will meanwhile try and stop the 100 per cent record of log leaders Young Brazilians from Karasburg at the Ramblers Stadium from 14h00.
Former Namibia Premier League outfit, Rebels will come up against the wounded second-placed Try Again from Keetmanshoop that aims to put pressure on Young Brazilians. The match is scheduled for the Independence Stadium at 14h00.
On Sunday in the Round 6 matches, Ramblers will face Try Again at 10h00 at the Ramblers Field, while Rebels will try and come through the acid test against fired up Young Brazilians at the Independence Stadium at 10h00.
