ONGWEDIVA, 22 AUG – Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) exhibitors and other service providers will this time around be provided with e-tickets to enter the showground instead of the usual wristbands.
This was said by spokesperson of the Ongwediva Town Council, Jackson Muma in an update to Nampa on Tuesday.
“We are migrating from the previous wristband entrance ticket to e-tickets, which are a web-based system registering exhibitors and issuing them with a unique code to reflect on their mobile phones,” Muma explained.
According to him, exhibitors and service providers, including journalists, will be asked to present the code at the entrance as they enter the showground.
Some 420 local and foreign exhibitors are participating in this year’s OATF, compared to 417 exhibitors of last year.
Visitors, Muma said, will be entering the showground by the usual method of paying at the entrance.
The preparatory committee of the OATF last week recruited 198 security guards from five local companies to ensure safety and security during the course of the show.
Ongwediva Town Council is hosting the OATF for the 19th year this time around. It starts on Friday to run until 01 September, with President Hage Geingob anticipated to open it officially on 27 August. – NAMPA
