WINDHOEK, December 23 – His Excellency Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, has urged Namibians to embrace the spirit of love, unity, and generosity during the festive season.
In his address, President Mbumba emphasized family, love, and hope as central to the Christmas celebration, encouraging citizens to reflect on the holiday’s deeper significance.
“Christmas is not only a celebration of family as the cornerstone of our society but also an affirmation that love, hope, and harmony are the true essence of unity,” he stated.
The President also highlighted the importance of extending kindness to the less fortunate, calling on all Namibians to embody the spirit of giving. “Let us view Christmas not only as a time to receive, but as an opportunity to give to those in need, spreading love and generosity through acts of kindness and charitable initiatives,” he urged.
As the season of joy unfolds, President Mbumba reminded the nation to honor and appreciate essential workers who tirelessly ensure the country’s safety and wellbeing.
“To our essential workers across various sectors and the brave men and women in uniform, I extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication and selflessness,” he said.
Acknowledging the increased travel during the festive period, the President made a heartfelt appeal for road safety. “I urge all Namibians who are travelling during this festive period to exercise caution on our roads. Please avoid drinking and driving, and always respect traffic rules and regulations,” he cautioned.
President Mbumba’s message resonated with the values of the festive season: love, peace, and hope for a brighter future. As he concluded, he encouraged Namibians to unite under the banner of “One Namibia, One Nation” and seize the opportunity for renewal that the holiday provides.
“Merry Christmas, Namibia! May this season be filled with love, laughter, peace, and hope for brighter days ahead.
