Nekundi chastises “political rejects”

WINDHOEK, FEB 10 – SWAPO Party Central Committee member Veikko Nekundi yesterday rebuked political rejects whom he claims “see nothing good done by SWAPO (and) they have chosen to criticize anything that we do.”He further classified them as “golden opportunists that have made it their daily business to insult our President, the Party leadership and the government.”

Speaking at the opening of the SWAPO Party Youth League’s Regional Executive Committee Meeting for the //Kharas Region, Nekundi, who is also Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises, urged his cadres not to be derailed by unnecessary bickering and to intensify their focus.

“We see them, pity them and let their agenda not carry you away. It’s indeed a pity to choose to blind oneself whilst it is quite evident that the SWAPO Party
and her government are continuing to strive towards achieving its mandates towards the betterment of the livelihoods of our populace. Yes, we have challenges, but surely this Party and her government are working towards overcoming such, and no doubt we are making good progress, including the Neckatal dam.”

He added: “Therefore, do not waver, do not be shaken and do not allow yourselves and your peers to be misled by “those rejects and political opportunist.”

Nekundi encouraged party members to uphold unity, as it is a key aspect when maintaining peace and stability.

Said Nekundi: “Dear Comrades, it is therefore the duty and responsibility of each and every SWAPO Party Youth League member to ensure that you remain
united at all times. Refrain from fighting one another, fighting wars that are not yours, being used against your party and using derogatory remarks
against the party. Unity builds societies, unity keeps the flame burring and unity maintains peace and stability.”

The former SPYL Secretary reiterated that SPYL “serves as an active, revolutionary, and militant transmitting belt of the SWAPO Party ideology, policies and programmes.”

Meanwhile, he encouraged members to serve the Party with purpose, vigor and determination, but not as destructive agents. He further discouraged his political cadres from confusing progressive revolutionarism with destructive revlotionarism stating that “the latter falls short of the key pillars of patriotism.”

“Further, don’t use SPYL as a transmitting belt of anarchy and disrespect. Don’t serve the SPYL to fulfill your ulterior motives and please don’t use SPYL as your springboard and popularity building bloc to your parallel political agenda,” said Nekundi.

In a thinly veiled attack at new political parties, he stated that 2019 had arrived with some unexpected developments in the political arena.

“2019 has arrived with a little confused baby, trying to enter the arena, I command that you deal with this little animal baby before it start to know how to breathe. You have that duty to be vigilant and to act decisively to the benefit of our Party. Don’t allow //Kharas region to be breeding grounds for confused engineers of tribal politics. Guard against it, protect our one Namibia, one nation. Comrades you are the vehicles and our achievements are your fuel, this combination use it decisively to defeat their tribal centered political propagandas.”

He said since this is an election year, it is of paramount importance for the “young lions” of SWAPO to instil in themselves a non-surrendering spirit, as well as to campaign peacefully.

“As we prepare ourselves for the campaign period I urge you all to stand together as a region, united and dedicated to the camaraderie spirit. Let us campaign peacefully, let us campaign in unison and let us campaign the SWAPO way. I challenge you to roar like never before. You are commanded to suffocate all these jingjong political Parties and ensure they are send to the cemetery of political rejects once and for all.” – musa@namibiadailynews.info
