Oshakati, Oct. 25 – A 33-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly hacked the mother of their three children with a panga, several times at Uukwanapembe village in the Tsandi Constituency.
The woman, identified as Emilia Ndakulilwa Kashimbika Timoteus (29) died at the scene.
Omusati Regional Commander Commissioner Ismael Basson confirmed the incident which happened at around 23h00 on Monday.
Basson said the suspect allegedly attacked the victim in the presence of her new boyfriend.
“He entered the woman’s homestead and broke the door of the room where she and her new boyfriend were sleeping and cut the deceased several times with a panga all over the body and head,” he said.
He added that the woman died at the scene, while the boyfriend escaped unharmed.
A case of housebreaking with intent to murder and murder read with the Domestic Violence Act has been opened against the man.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed of her death and police investigations into the matter are continuing.
