Man dies in accident on Kamanjab-Khorixas road

WINDHOEK, 04 JUL  – A 58-year-old man died instantly when the vehicle he was in overturned on the Kamanjab-Khorixas gravel road on yesterday.
The Namibian Police Force’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Kunene Region, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa on Wednesday the accident occurred around 14h00 some 46 kilometres outside Kamanjab.
“It is alleged that the 23-year-old driver lost control over the vehicle on a slight curve, causing the vehicle to overturn,” he said.
The deceased, identified as Karl Von Hagen, was a passenger in the vehicle and his body was taken to the Kamanjab Clinic mortuary.
Kanyetu said a case of culpable homicide has been registered against the driver, who allegedly does not have a driver’s licence.
This is the second accident in the region to claim a life in less than a week.
Two people died in an accident in Opuwo on Saturday after the driver allegedly lost control over the BMW sedan he was driving.
