WINDHOEK, 12 MAY – The Khomas and Erongo football teams reached the final of the under-17 boys football tournament at the National Youth Games underway here.
The two teams beat their opponents on penalties to become finalists of this competition which is being hosted for the first time ever.
The final will be played at the Independence Stadium at 15h00 on Saturday.
Khomas, who were impressive in the group stages and semifinals, failed to find the back of the net on the day, and the match ended goalless. Khomas managed to beat their opponents 3-2 on penalty kicks.
Erongo and Omusati also failed to produce goals in their encounter, and the match was decided by penalty shootout which saw Erongo come out victorious 4-3.
Athletes are participating in football, athletics, basketball, boxing, judo, netball, swimming, tennis and volleyball.
