NEW DELHI, July 31– India’s federal government informed its parliament that 16 Indian nationals, including 10 seafarers, have lost their lives so far in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East that began earlier this year.
The information was presented by federal junior foreign minister Kirti Vardhan Singh on Thursday in the upper house of the Indian parliament.
According to the minister, eight were killed in Oman, four in the United Arab Emirates, two in Kuwait, and one each in Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Singh told the lawmaking body that 75 Indians were injured during the conflict.
The minister said the government, in coordination with the host governments, extended all possible assistance to the families of the deceased Indian nationals for early repatriation of the mortal remains to India. (Namibia Daily News / Xinhua)
