OTJIWARONGO, 29 APR – A 37-year-old farmworker succumbed to a stab wound inflicted on him by a colleague at Farm Odusa in the Otavi District on Friday evening.
The deceased, identified as Simon Garosab, worked at the farm as a general worker alongside the suspect. He died on Saturday in the Katutura Intermediate Hospital where he was transferred on Friday for further medical attention.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Otjozondjupa crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas on Sunday told Nampa that Garosab’s next of kin have been informed of his death.
Andreas said the deceased was stabbed once in the left side of the chest with a knife during a quarrel with the suspect.
“He was taken to the Otjiwarongo State Hospital first and later transferred to Windhoek where he died on Saturday,” said Andreas.
The 24-year-old suspect in the matter has been arrested and is expected to appear in the Otavi Magistrate’s Court Monday on a charge of murder.
Police investigations continue.
