Exciting end to SSFD Coastal Stream

REHOBOTH, 20 JUNE  – The race for the Southern Stream First Division (SSFD) Coastal Stream is wide open, with all six team standing a chance to win the league this coming weekend in matches slated for Windhoek and Walvis Bay.
Only four points separate sixth placed Western Spurs who are on nine points from log leaders Spoilers Football Club on 13 points, with Spoilers having played nine games, one more than Western Spurs.
PC Blue Boys are in third place with 12 points, fourth-placed Flamingoes on 11 points and fifth placed Northern Stars on 10 points are the three teams with two games remaining, while Spoilers and second-placed Khomas Namibian Police (NamPol) FC have one game remaining, with both teams tied on 17 points each.
The upcoming weekend fixtures provided by Acting League Administrator of SSFD, Joshua Tovey ||Hoëbeb, will see teams pitted against each other in mouth-watering clashes.
On Saturday in Walvis Bay, Northern Stars will face neighbours Flamingoes in the Walvis Bay derby at Kuisebmond Stadium at 12h00, followed by Western Spurs battling PC Blue Boys at 1400 at the same venue.
On Sunday in the final round of the league, Western Spurs will come up against their Walvis Bay rivals Flamingoes at 12h00 in a match scheduled for Kuisebmond Stadium, followed by Northern Stars up against PC Blue Boys from neighbouring Swakopmund at 14h00.
On the same day in Windhoek, the top of the table clash will see Khomas NamPol confronting title chasing Spoilers FC at Sam Nujoma Stadium at 14h00.
Should PC Blue Boys on 12 points win both their games they will win the stream.
If one of Spoilers or Khomas NamPol win their match against each other then they will hope for the teams below them to draw or lose their matches in order to win the Stream.
Western Spurs with nine points on the other hand will have to win both their games with four clear goals on both days and hope for the other teams to lose to have a chance of winning the Stream.
The winner of Coastal Stream will vie for a place in the Namibian Premier League against winners of Inland Stream, while the sixth placed team in Coastal Stream will join already relegated Sport Klub Windhoek from Inland Stream in their respective second division.
