Coach Migne disappointed, says Harambee Stars to recover ahead of Equatorial Guinea clash

   NAIROBI, May 27 -- Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne believes his team will turn the tide and win against Equatorial Guinea after the team lost 1-0 to Swaziland in his first assignment in Kenya.
   The French coach said his side has enough potential to do well and believes with a little support from the fans, they will be able to ride the wave and inflict defeat to their opponents.
   "Where were the fans? Just days ago they filled a stadium to watch Gor Mahia and Hull City. Not even a quarter of them made it to the field in Machakos," he said.
   Kenya plays Equatorial Guinea on Monday in another friendly match before heading to India on Friday for the Intercontinental tourney where they will meet India, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei.
   "Of course it is a disappointment to start by losing. However, this match was not given the significance it deserved and I hope they will improve with more support from the fans," said Migne, Saturday in Nairobi.
   Migne, who is still new at his work station having replaced Belgian Paul Put in February, is clearly not impressed.
   "The pressure now is on the players to deliver and it is down to them to see how they will turn it around in the next match," he added.
   Barry Steenkamp guided Felix Bendenhorst's cross into the net to win the match and Migne will have to blame his blunt striking force for the misfortunes.
   "I will speak about the mistakes conceded with my players and the technical bench. I noticed we are lacking scoring power," he said.
   Kenya is preparing for their September match against Ghana for the Africa Nations Cup. Sierra Leone, who beat Kenya 2-1 last year and Ethiopia are the other members of the group.
   Only the winner of the group will qualify for the finals in 2019 in Cameroon. Kenya last featured at the Africa Nations Cup, the premier football tournament in the continent, in 2004 in Tunisia and coach Migne was appointed with the sole task of guiding Kenya back to the big tournament.Xinhua
