YAOUNDE, Dec. 18– Cameroonian Minister of External Relations Lejeune Mbella Mbella on Wednesday refuted reports that the country has been suspended from the African Union (AU).
Mbella made the remarks while reacting to media reports that the country has been suspended from the AU for failing to respect its financial obligations.
“Our country continues to carry on its regular activities within this important regional body,” he said in a statement.
The participation of Cameroon within the AU, including its financial obligations, is being followed up carefully by government services, Mbella said.
Despite global financial challenges and internal difficulties, Cameroon still respects its commitments toward its international partners, he added. (Namibia Daily / Xinhua)
