SWAKOPMUND, July 14 – The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) Swakopmund leadership held a peaceful demonstration in Swakopmund, on Thursday, July 14 in solidarity with disgruntled Eagle Night Watch employees stationed at Uisab Mine.
A petition listing the guards’ grievances was presented to Eagle Night Watch Office, Swakop Uranium Office. The protest was triggered by alleged unfair labour practices including the suspension of employees based on allegations by the company.
According to the AR, the employees who took part in the demonstration had received letters of termination of employment without valid reasons.
Comment could not be obtained from Eagle Night Watch management.
