SINGAPORE, SEPT. 29 – Namibia’s Paulus Ambunda edged out Singapore’s Muhamad Ridhwan in the International BOxing Organisation (IBO) super bantamweight world title on Saturday night at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
Previously undefeated in his fledgling career, 30-year-old Ridhwan lost by a split decision to 38-year-old Ambunda, going the full 12 rounds with the Namibian.
Ambunda boasted a record of 26 wins and two losses prior to the match-up and is a former IBO and World Boxing Organization world champion. The defeat meant Ridhwan’s spotless record has a blemish, after recording 11 wins in 11 fights before last night. – NDN Staffer
