WINDHOEK, 01 NOV – Employees of Flamingo Inflight Services held a peaceful demonstration in the capital on Thursday, demanding a salary increase of N.dollars 500.
The Namibia National Labour Organisation (Nanlo) earlier this week said the union and company failed to reach an agreement on the increment.
“The union is standing at N.dollars 500 and the company is standing at N.dollars 400,” said Nanlo National Treasurer, Joseph Garoeb.
The workers also want Board Director Sacky Shanghala to remove General Manager Kelvin Kaisi. They alleged that Kaisi, who is Zimbabwean, “does not have the interests of Namibians at heart”.
The workers said they will demonstrate until the company agrees to the N.dollars 500 increment.
Flamingo Inflight Services provides in-flight services to various airlines operating from Hosea Kutako International Airport.
