WINDHOEK, June 26 – Liandro Mensah, the former Special Assistant to President Hage Geingob, has announced his departure from the government to pursue studies in Rome, Italy with the goal of becoming a Catholic priest. This decision was shared by his aunt, Namibia’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Magret Mensah, on her personal Facebook page this afternoon.
In her heartfelt message, Ambassador Mensah bid farewell to Liandro as he embarked on his journey to Rome. She described him as a role model to his family and friends, highlighting that his studies towards becoming a priest began three years ago. She expressed her confidence in his ability to represent Namibia proudly, emphasizing that he has always had a calling to be an apostle for Christ. The Ambassador concluded by sending her blessings and love to Liandro.
Liandro, who was formerly a member of the Swapo party youth league (SPYL), served as a Special Assistant to President Geingob until 2015. He later became a Personal Assistant to the Minister of Defense, Frans Kapofi, before ultimately resigning from his government position. – according to the Namibia Daily News
