WINDHOEK, January 6 — His Excellency Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee, arrived in Windhoek, Namibia, on Sunday, January 5, 2025, for a two-day official visit.
Upon his arrival, His Excellency Wang Yi was warmly welcomed by Honourable Christine //Hoebes, Minister in the Presidency; Mr. Zhao Weiping, Ambassador of China to Namibia; Ambassador Penda Naanda, Executive Director of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO); and Mr. Elia Kaiyamo, Namibia’s Ambassador to China, among other dignitaries.
During his visit, His Excellency Wang Yi will hold official talks with Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Vice President and President-Elect of Namibia, at the historic Old State House in Windhoek on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Later that day, he is scheduled to travel to the coastal town of Swakopmund to engage in discussions with His Excellency Nangolo Mbumba, President of the Republic of Namibia.
The visit serves as a platform for both nations to review progress in their diverse areas of cooperation and explore opportunities for deepening bilateral relations.
