WINDHOEK, July 12 — The Cricket Cranes were once again exposed by Namibia’s potent batting line-up in the final T20I of the series, as the hosts completed a 4-0 whitewash. Uganda’s bowlers were unable to contain Namibia’s batsmen in the death overs, as they consistently scored at over 10 runs per over.
The visitors’ death bowling has been a major concern throughout the series, and it was no different in the final match. Namibia’s batsmen were able to take advantage of the slower bowlers, as they hit a number of big shots in the final overs.
Uganda’s captain, Brian Masaba, admitted that his bowlers had struggled in the death overs. “We know that we have a problem with death bowling,” he said. “We have been working on it, but we need to find a solution quickly.”
The Cricket Cranes will need to address their death bowling problems if they want to be competitive in the upcoming ODI series against Namibia. If they are unable to do so, they could be in for another whitewash. – Namibia Daily News
