REHOBOTH, 22 JUN – Aspiring Namibian Premier League (NPL) hopefuls, Young Brazilians promised to fight tooth and nail for maximum points in the Southern Stream First Division Inland Stream Round 9 and Round 10 slated for this weekend.
The Karasburg-based log leaders, tied on 17 points with second-placed Windhoek United, but with a better goal difference, have two games remaining, while the latter only has one game remaining.
Speaking to Nampa on Thursday, coach of Young Brazilians, Tolla Julius said it is now or never for his charges to gain promotion to the elite league and bring the NPL to the far south.
His team, he added, has been working hard since the start of the league and it will be shameful to come this far only to throw it away at the last hurdle.
“The team looks good, the spirit in the camp is hundred per cent and the fans are ready to be our twelfth men this weekend and we will play in a carnival-like atmosphere with music performances,” he boasted.
There is enough motivation for the players and fans alike to do it for themselves and collect maximum points this weekend, he continued.
He said they will not be complacent in their mission but will do it in style.
The coach urged the residents of Karasburg and inhabitants of the ||Kharas Region to come out in numbers “to support the team in its quest to bring Premier League football to our dusty Dakaza (Karasburg)”.
Young Brazilians only need 4 points to win the Inland Stream for a play-off spot against the winner of the Coastal Stream for a berth in the 2018/2019 NPL season.
