WINDHOEK, JULY 19 – VOOVTV was launched on DStv channel 196 in November 2017 as the world’s first TV channel integrated and powered by content created in the VOOV app. People that live-streamed in the app could be featured spontaneously on TV. The channel packaged content from VOOV with fresh new TV presenters whose careers were launched as a result of their performance on VOOVTV.
While VOOVTV offered a fresh take on TV, and produced learnings that are already influencing the future of TV production, it did not live up to anticipations, and as from 31 July 2018, VOOVTV will stop airing on DStv.
