Oshakati, Aug. 23 — Police in Oshakati are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving, after two vehicles collided head-on at Onanime village Oshakati/Omungwelume Road at around 19h00 on Monday 22/08/2022.
According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo the driver of a white Polo Volkswagen N 14257 SH, a Namibian male of 52 years, who is in stable condition, was driving from Omungwelume to Oshakati when he collided with a white Toyota Corolla N 18130 SH, driven by a 26-year-old Namibian.
The youthful driver is in critical condition with fractured legs. It’s alleged that he had just offloaded a passenger on a roadside facing Oshakati then he made a U-turn to face Omungwelume and the vehicles collided.
The 26-year-old driver who sustained fractures driver was admitted to Medipark Ongwediva, in critical condition.
Both vehicles in which there were no passengers were severely damaged.
