OTJIWARONGO, 14 APR – Three men survived a road accident after the small pickup vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the B1 road between Otjiwarongo and Okahandja in the early hours Saturday morning.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa in an interview on Saturday the accident occurred some 46 kilometres south of Otjiwarongo at about 03h00.
It is alleged the 42-year-old driver lost control over the vehicle and it overturned several times.
The driver and his 22 and 30 year-old-passengers were taken to the Otjiwarongo State Hospital shortly after the accident.
“The driver sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital in critical condition,” she added.
A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened at the Otjiwarongo Police Station.
