WINDHOEK, 04 AUG – Telecom Namibia has announced that it will suspend its services for all overdue accounts on 12 August 2018 countrywide.
Telecom Namibia’s Head of Corporate Communication and Public Relations, Oiva Angula said in a media statement issued Friday customers with outstanding bills are given a grace period for payment until next Sunday.
Angula said customers who fail to pay their bills after the stipulated date will have their services suspended temporarily. It will only be restored once the accounts are paid in full.
“The suspension of services as a result of non-payment remains an agonising decision for Telecom Namibia, however we take solace in the fact that we spared no effort to collect outstanding debts amicably,” he said.
The suspension of services could affect government ministries, hospitals, education institutions, State-owned enterprises, embassies, construction companies, small and medium enterprises and individual residential users.
Angula urged customers to pay their overdue accounts. The statement said Telecom Namibia will take legal action against suspended accounts that have been neglected for an extended period.
