RUNDU, 24 MAY – Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Stanley Simataa officially inaugurated the ministry’s Kavango East Region office at Rundu on Thursday.
Simataa said the opening of the office reinforces a sense of permanence of the ministry in the region.
The minister said providing the staff with a spacious and conducive working environment was a prerequisite for them to perform their duties effectively.
“What we are truly celebrating here is how this building will, in the future, serve as a conduit to make information available in the right form and at the right time to the users of this region,” he said.
The building is equipped with a state-of-the-art recording studio which will be utilised by the ministry and locals to record talk shows and music.
It also includes a library, which will be open to the public and will complement the existing community library.
Also speaking at the opening was Kavango East Governor, Samuel Mbambo, who said the region will benefit immensely from the new building.
