WINDHOEK, 31 JUL – The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation has commenced with the process of rotating the Namibian Heads of Mission.
The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi explained in a media statement issued here on Monday that the process is done in accordance with the established international diplomatic norms.
She said the norms, among others, dictate that a nominee may only be considered Ambassador or High Commissioner designate, when concurrence is granted by the receiving State.
Without providing an exact date, she said the nation will be informed of the completion of the process at the appropriate time.
President Hage Geingob in his State of the Nation Address earlier this year had informed the nation that he would rotate the Heads of Mission.
