WANAHEDA, JAN 31 – Police on Sunday retrieved the body of a young Namibian boy who drowned on Friday in Goreagab Dam. “It is alleged that a young Namibian Male, age between 6-7 years, drowned in Goreagab Dam while he was swimming with his friend. The body was retrieved today at about 12h00. The deceased is identified as Steven Ndeutapo, 7 years old Namibian Male,” said NamPol Deputy Commissioner Pretunilla Shikwambi in a statement. His next of kin have been informed.
In Onayena, police on Friday found 77-year-old Ester Stefanus’ body in her sleeping room. It was reported that she had visited the hospital on 19 January. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Her body was discovered on 28 January at around 11h00 at Oniimwandi village Onayena area.
A case of suicide is being investigated by police in Mondesa after the body of 30-year-old Loide Naapopye was found on Friday, 28 January in the morning hours at DRC location. The body was found hanging from the roof in her shack with a gown rope tied around her neck.
“The body was discovered about 09h30 by a neighbor who decided to greet her after she returned from hospital the previous day. No suicide note was found. The next of kin is informed. Investigation continues.”
Another case of suicide is being investigated in Onandjaba after a 27-year-old Namibian male Nghindinihaba Shikulo’s body was found hanging in the sleeping room of the neighbour’s house with no suicide note.
“On 29 January 2022 at about 15h00 at Ohamuti village Etayi constituency, Omusati region. It is alleged that the deceased was last seen on the same day around 13h00 after eating lunch in their house. At around 15h00 his lifeless body was found hanging in the sleeping room of the neighbor house (grandmother’s house) with a rope around his neck. The deceased is Andreas Namibian male, 27 years old. No suicide note was found.”
Elsewhere in Onesi, the body of Uunona Sem Ndeshipanda was found hanging from the roof of his sleeping room with a rope around his neck by his cousin. The body was found on Saturday 29 January at about 23h20 in a residence at Omalyadhila village Onesi constituency. Ndeshipanda was 26 years old at the time of his passing.
Police in Onesi are also conducting an inquisition after the passing of Iipinge Wilbard Linekela, whose body was found on Sunday 30 January at 07h20 at Okathakongala village Onesi constituency Omusati region.
“The body of Iipinge Wilbard Linekela (39) was found hanging from a tree with a wire around his neck in the Mahangu field, by his uncle. The deceased was allegedly last seen on 29 January 2022 at Eviliwa location at 16h00. No suicide note was found. Police investigation continues.” – musa@namibiadailynews.info
