Oshakati, Oct. 24 – Edison “Bulelo” Nghipondoka from Team Bulelo Boxing Gym beat Nuuyoma December from MTC-Kilimanjaro Boxing Club in a welterweight fight at Oshakati on Saturday evening.
Nghipondoka now holds a record of six wins and six losses, while December holds a record of five fights and five losses.
Nghipondoka said it was a great fight and he had well prepared for December.
“This was one of the greatest fights in my boxing career, but I have respect for my opponent because he’s the only boxer that gave me a cut on my eye, but I still continue to fight like a champ,” he said.
Nghipondoka said for this year, he still has one fight slated for 19 November in Windhoek.
He said after that he wants to move down to the Junior welterweight title and challenge whoever holds the national title.
The exciting bout between Fabian Lamek from MTC-Kilimanjaro Boxing Club and Shanyengange Shanyengange from Chris Junior Boxing Gym ended in a draw.
The two displayed matched technique and skills in the 53.52kg bantamweight division and the judges settled for a draw.

Lamek now holds a record of, one win, one draw and two losses while Shanyengange has one draw and one loss.
