WINDHOEK, March 25 -- Namibia's senior netball team nicknamed the Desert Jewels lost to the Proteas of South Africa on Thursday at the opening match of the 2021 Spar Netball Challenge in Cape Town.
Namibia lost 58-30 to the host nation.
Speaking to Xinhua after the match, coach of Namibia Julene Meyer said she was proud of the performance from her players.
"We made some errors, but overall the girls tried. I think we did well," said Meyer.
Namibia's next match is against Uganda on March 26.
The 2021 Spar Netball Challenge will end on March 31.Xinhua
