Mariental, Aug. 8 — The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure, and Housing embarked on a significant fact-finding mission yesterday, August 7th. Under the leadership of Chairperson Alfeus Kaushiweni Abraham, the committee took a significant stride toward its objectives by extending a courtesy visit to the office of Reverend Salomon April, the esteemed Governor of the Hardap district.
During this encounter, the committee engaged in a fruitful and insightful dialogue with Reverend Salomon April, delving into the real-life situations, hurdles, and achievements intertwined with the region’s intricate web of road networks.
This gathering served as a pivotal milestone within the committee’s comprehensive oversight responsibilities. The delegation aimed to measure the efficacy of Namibia’s extensive road network in promoting local economic growth, augmenting access to essential services such as hospitals and educational institutions, and nurturing social unity and security.
The overarching intention behind the committee’s visit was to evaluate the degree to which Namibia’s road infrastructure either facilitates or hampers the nation’s socio-economic progression. Given the critical stakes involved in access to indispensable facilities like hospitals and schools, the efficiency of the road network holds a central role in the lives of Namibians, spanning across all walks of life.
