WINDHOEK, Feb 10 – A total of 11 Namibian referees and their assistants were on Wednesday handed over their refereeing badges by FIFA at a press conference held at the Namibia football Association (NFA) Girls Centre. The badges were handed over by referees Coordinator Absalom Goseb, match Assessor Fransisca Katjaimo and Marketing Manager Cassius Moetie, for the 2022 international matches.
Five were handed badges at referee level, while the remaining six were handed assistant referee honours. Two of the newly appointed are female officials namely Eveline Lungameni and Cornelius Ndapewa, which brings the total number of Namibian female match officials to four.
Three of the newly appointed officials will face their first task as they travel to Zimbabwe for the Women Africa Cup of Nations.
“The trio of Vistoria Shangula, Twanyanyukwa Antsino and Eveline Lungameni, accompanied by Katjaimo, are gearing up to leave for Zimbabwe next week, to officiate the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) clash between Zimbabwe and Botswana on the 18th February 2022,” said the NFA.
The 2022 FIFA-accredited Namibian match officials are: Referees – Haitembu Wilhem Letukwafa [M], Naftal Mweshitsama Negongo [M], Nghipandulwa Samuel Mayele [M], Shangula Vistoria Nuusiku [F], Twanyanyukwa Ndemugwanitha Antsino [F].
