WINDHOEK, 25 SEP – The Ministry of Defence is hosting the 21st session of the Namibia-Zambia Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security in Windhoek this week.
A media statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday said the session started Monday and ends Friday.
“The Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security is a platform that annually brings together both the political leadership and security sector personnel of the two countries to discuss matters of mutual interest in the areas of defence, security and immigration, amongst others,” the statement said.
It further said such difficulties can be better dealt with through joint operations and information sharing between the two countries.
The 20th session of the Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security was hosted in Livingstone in September 2017.
The two-day event amongst others resolved to enhance the existing cooperation between Namibia and Zambia’s defence and security institutions.
