Windhoek, July 18 2022 — Tech companies are still largely male-dominated, and there are many barriers that women must overcome in order to move beyond middle management. Consequently, this makes it challenging for women to advance to the C-suite.
Making a commitment towards innovation, and on how to create an environment where everybody can strive- incorporating women to ease into leadership position was the order of the day at the first ever MTC Women in Tech Conference – last Friday in Windhoek.
The MTC Women in Tech Conference will be an internal MTC series aimed to expedite women in leadership development – accelerate women into higher echelons of power within the organizational structure, especially with relevance to technical fields.
This is embedded and in reaction to a self-assessment program the company is taking to ensure that specific – women are given the enviable right to thrive at all major public enterprises
The conference reflected and deliberated on matters such as: (1) The current state of female leadership in tech. (2) How women in tech are leading the dialogue on social justice in their companies. (3) Strategies companies are using to increase gender diversity and equal representation. (4) The roadblocks women face when working in the industry. (5) and how companies can create a more inclusive work environment so that women can advance in their careers.”
