Eenhana, 24 July 2025 – In support of youth development and education, Metropolitan Namibia has donated sporting equipment to Omhanda Combined School in the Ohangwena region ahead of their upcoming school soccer tournament.
The handover took place at the Metropolitan Eenhana Branch where Branch Manager Timo Shikongo presented the school with two trophies, 20 gold medals and two soccer balls. The tournament, set to take place from 25 to 27 July 2025, is a much anticipated annual event that brings together learners, families and the wider community in a celebration of sportsmanship and unity.
“We are honoured to support young learners through initiatives like this,” said Mr Shikongo during the handover. “Sport teaches teamwork, perseverance and pride. These are values we believe in deeply. Together We Can help nurture the potential of the next generation.”
Receiving the donation, Petrus Amboto, Head of Sport at Omhanda Combined School, expressed his gratitude:
“This sponsorship means a great deal to our learners and the entire school community. It lifts spirits and motivates our youth to actively engage in sport, which plays a vital role in their development.”
