Walvis Bay, April. 01 — Manica Group Namibia has demonstrated its commitment to community development by investing N$600,000 toward the construction of the Kuisebmond Secondary School (KSS) multi-purpose hall. The hall will serve as a central assembly point for learners from various schools across Kuisebmund.
In addition to hosting school events, the facility will function as a dedicated venue for the broader Walvis Bay community, providing a space for vocational training, youth development initiatives, and other public-interest programmes.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Group Managing Director Ralph Ruiters emphasised the importance of intentional community development. “Growing up in Kuisebmund, I recall a joyful childhood. The presence of sports facilities and parks was a major contribution to that joy,” Ruiters shared.
“As the private sector, we need to play a larger and more intentional role in community investment. This funding forms part of Manica’s education drive to assist schools in creating healthy and conducive learning spaces.”
KSS Principal, Jonathan Maswahu, expressed his gratitude toward Manica Group Namibia for the investment, noting that the school anticipates starting construction on the roof trusses in April.
The Vice-Chairperson of the School Hall Committee,Vilho Nevonga, also conveyed his appreciation: “This contribution has touched our hearts and will go a long way toward completing the construction.”
This funding is a cornerstone of Manica Group Namibia’s long-standing Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, which focuses on education, community upliftment, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Manica’s approach to CSI goes beyond once-off donations, focusing instead on sustainable, long term impact and community support that empowers people and improves access to opportunities.
