TEHRAN, Feb. 5 — Iranian presidential security guards shot a man
armed with a knife as he tried to trespass onto the premises of the Iranian
presidential office in the capital Tehran on Monday.
The deputy governor of Tehran province for security affairs, Mohsen
Hamedani, told Tasnim news agency that the man was trying to go through the
gates of the presidential office heedless of the warnings from the security
He was detained after being shot in the leg, Hamedani said, adding that
investigations are underway to discover his identity and motives. – XINHUA
