Man drowns at farm outside Outjo

OTJIWARONGO, 22 DEC – A 19-year-old epileptic man drowned in a dam at Farm De Hoop outside Outjo on Thursday afternoon.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Commander, Commissioner Heinrich Tjiveze in an interview with Nampa on Friday said the man, identified as Rivaldo Ronaldo Afrikaner, was last seen seated on the edge of the dam while holding his cellphone.

Tjiveze said at about 16h10, Afrikaner fell into the dam and drowned instantly.

“His body was retrieved the same day and his next of kin have been informed,” said Tjiveze.

No foul play is suspected and an inquest has been opened at the Outjo Police Station in connection with the incident. – NAMPA
