WINDHOEK, Feb. 13 – After the Leonardville Base Transmitter Station (BTS) site collapsed last October, the community of Leonardville and the surrounding areas can breath easier after the restoration of the site is now complete.
“MTC would like to convey its earnest appreciation and gratitude to the community of Leonardville especially the Farmers Union leadership for their patience and understanding, during the course of the last two months,” read a statement issued.
“We wish to say thank you to our partners whilst construction and re- erection of the fallen base transmitter station was ongoing, who provided networks support services during the time, expressed Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer.
The Leonardville BTS was a shared site, beside MTC’s own equipment it also served as the transmitter station for other radio and telecoms operators in the area.
Ekandjo reassured the community and country that MTC will always work in close relation with its stakeholders to make sure that the provision of quality telecommunications services is always a priority. – NDN Staffer
