KATIMA MULILO, 31 MAR – Khomas narrowly defeated Otjozondjupa 25-23 in The Namibian Newspaper Cup netball competition here on Saturday.
Otjozondjupa dominated the first quarter, but Khomas fought back and won the second quarter.
However, Otjozondjupa defended well, and equalised 11-11 at the end of the third quarter.
Khomas team captain Juandre Nell told Nampa after the match she is very proud of the team, especially since they are all new to each other, and managed to work hard together.
“I am just looking forward to our next match,” she said.
Bertha Hamukwaya of Khomas was crowned Player of the Match.
Khomas have also beaten Kunene and Kavango West and will thus proceed to the next stage of the competition on Sunday.
