KATIMA MULILO, 31 MAR – A fired-up Khomas continued their winning streak when they hammered Kunene 30-18 in their second game of The Namibian Newspaper Cup netball competition here on Friday.
Khomas beat Kavango West 32-12 earlier in the day.
In the first quarter of the match, Kunene and Khomas seemed to be at the same level, but Khomas won 7-6.
Khomas continued to have the upper hand in the second quarter but Kunene did not make it easy for them, showing character into the third quarter when they regained possession but failed to convert most of their goal-scoring chances.
Khomas won the match, but Kunene’s Vemumunavi Hindjou scooped the Player of the Match award.
Khomas coach Eve Kamutushi told Nampa after the match she was happy her girls won their two games in the competition thus far.
“It was a hectic day, but I am excited that the girls have won the match,” she noted.
