KEETMANSHOOP, 20 SEP – A 45-year-old teacher who allegedly abducted a 15-year-old school girl here in June this year, made her third appearance in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The accused, Valery Bock, a teacher at Suiderlig Secondary School, is charged with abduction under the Combating of Immoral Practices Act 21 of 1980.
Bock appeared before Magistrate Melissa Mungunda, who postponed the case to 27 November this year for further police investigations.
“Police still need to collect a few statements from witnesses,” State representative Marlon Adams informed the court.
During her first court appearance on 14 June, Bock, who was represented by privately-instructed lawyer, Florian Beukes, was granted bail of N.dollars 4 000.
Bock allegedly abducted a Grade 9 learner and kept her at her house for four days.
The girl was found inside a wardrobe in Bock’s house in the Lemoendraai residential area after a search warrant was issued for the girl.
It is suspected that Bock was involved in a romantic relationship with the girl. – NAMPA
