WINDHOEK, 09 MAY – Eighteen people participated in the three-day Kahengava Foundation workshop on leadership and business management held over the weekend in Omaruru.
The purpose of the workshop was to assist participants in developing problem-solving skills to run successful businesses and to contribute to the development of Namibia.
According to a media release by the foundation on Monday, the workshop, held under the theme ‘An experience that will change your life’, took place from Friday to Sunday and hosted participants from local youth organisations, churches and small enterprises.
Spokesman of the foundation, Olavi Mikael said the purpose of the workshop was for participants to examine their own thinking and uncover their hidden talents to invent new ways to produce a breakthrough-result in their organisations.
“Part of the aim was to bring positive changes within our community and to promote personal growth and confidence among entrepreneurs and leaders,” he said.
One of the participants, Naftaline Kazondovi, described the workshop as really helpful.
“It made sure to impart knowledge that will last a lifetime and one of the greatest lessons I learned is that as an individual, you need to have plans for your life and strategies in moving forward your business,” Kazondovi, the owner of Tunajo Trading CC, was quoted as saying in the statement.
Kahengava Foundation is a non-profit organisation focusing on development, education, health and poverty.
It was the fourth training the organisation held since its initiation in November 2015. So far, 304 people benefited from training, according to the foundation.
Mikael said he hoped the participants went back with some experience in dealing with challenges they face in their daily lives.
