WINDHOEK, Feb. 28 – Speaking at a ceremony on behalf of members of the Diplomatic Corps on Friday, acting Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, His Excellency Mr Anastas Kaboba Kasongo Wa-Kimba, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo, applauded President Hage Geingob for implementing effective (good) governance in the Executive, Judiciary and Legislative.
“Your dedication towards the efforts and commitment to fight corruption and make sure that the distribution of the country resources are done in a non-discriminatory and fair manner.”
The Acting Dean also recognized the Harambee Prosperity Plan’s effort toward poverty eradication, and making sure that all Namibians pull in one direction towards one purpose of unity and inclusivity.
In his statement President Geingob, stated that the year signaled a fresh beginning for all, adding that it is year of reckoning.
“It is the year where we tackle issues of corruption, poverty and unemployment,” said Dr. Geingob.
The president said shared prosperity will come a reality if all participate, and therefore the member of the Diplomatic Corps should join in the fight against inequality.
“We have implemented some cost cutting measures to reduce wastage of resources,” said Geingob, adding that Africans should hold hands in the African Unity house and make sure no one should feel left out. – Robert Maseka
