Diplomat Schimming-Chase passes on

WINDHOEK, Mar. 13 – Ambassador Nora Schimming-Chase passed on earlier today, the Presidency has confiirmed. In a statement from the Namibian Presidency, President Hage G. Geingob described Shimming-Chase as a family friend, and comrade.

“The President of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency, Dr. Hage G. Geingob has learned with sadness about the passing away of family friend and comrade, Ambassador Nora Schimming-Chase.

“President Geingob described Ambassador Nora Schimming-Chase as a servantleader and diplomat, who with Comrade Libertine Amathila joined as brave female freedom fighters, the late Comrade Putuse Appolus in Dar es Salam (Tanzania) in the 1960s.”
