REHOBOTH, 06 JUL – A man and his wife Thursday escaped unhurt after the vehicle they were travelling in left the road and came to a standstill when the man lost control while overtaking a minibus.
Hardap Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Namibian Police, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay confirmed the incident to Nampa on Thursday and said it was reported around 16h00.
It happened on the B1 national road some 10 kilometres from Gibeon on the Gibeon-Asab road.
“The driver of the Volkswagen Polo allegedly overtook the minibus and lost control, but fortunately no one was injured,” Clay said.
A number of fatal car crashes were recorded on the Gibeon-Asab road this year, including the collision between a bus and pickup that claimed the lives of four people last month.
