Windhoek, May.07 — Bank Windhoek recently announced the appointment of Hermanus Grobler as Head of Commercial Banking within its Business Banking department, effective 1 March 2026.
In his new role, Grobler will be responsible for driving portfolio growth, strengthening client relationships across key commercial segments, and delivering tailored, value-adding solutions to business clients. He will also contribute to shaping and executing the Bank’s Business Banking strategy by leveraging market insights, sector knowledge, and credit expertise to support clients’ growth ambitions while maintaining strong governance and risk discipline.
Leon Koch, Executive Officer of Business Banking and Acting Executive Officer of Retail Banking Services at Bank Windhoek, welcomed Grobler to the Bank. Koch said he looks forward to Grobler’s leadership and positive contribution as the Bank continues to strengthen its Business Banking division and deliver exceptional value to commercial clients.
Grobler holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from London School of Economics and Finance, complemented by advanced qualifications in Property Development and Real Estate Finance from University of Cape Town. He has also completed extensive training in credit risk, Basel frameworks, trade finance, and commercial property financing.
He brings close to two decades of experience in banking and financial services, with expertise spanning business banking, commercial and corporate banking, strategic sectors, and commercial property finance. Before joining Bank Windhoek, Grobler held senior leadership roles in the Namibian banking sector, including Group Head of Corporate Banking, Head of Strategic Sectors, and Head of Commercial Property Finance.
Earlier in his career, he served in relationship management and credit leadership roles across Business and Corporate Banking, where he managed large and diverse client portfolios, structured bespoke financial solutions, and supported sustainable portfolio growth through disciplined risk management.
Grobler is regarded as a results-driven finance professional with a strong belief in teamwork, collaboration, and disciplined execution, with a focus on long-term value creation and sustainable business growth.
