Aranos, July 31 – In a recent incident, a 23-year-old Namibian male was apprehended by authorities on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at approximately 04:05 AM in Donkerhoek, Aranos, for the alleged possession of cannabis.
The arrest came about during a routine police search, according to the accounts provided by the Namibian police. Law enforcement personnel conducted a thorough search of the area, leading to the discovery and seizure of 28 bags of skunk cannabis, totalling 35 grams. The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs was N$1750.
The apprehension of the suspect adds to the region’s ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes. Despite persistent law enforcement efforts, the possession and distribution of illegal substances continue to present significant challenges.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken into custody, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway. – Namibia Daily News
