WINDHOEK, FEB 10 – The Leader of the Official Opposition and President of the Popular Democratic Movement
(PDM), McHenry Venaani on Thursday extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the congregates of the Halleluja Parish in Windhoek and to all individuals whom have been impacted by Reverend Willem Pieters in their daily lives.
“Since Reverend Pieters passed away on Sunday, 30 January 2022, there has been an outpouring of grief and expressions of admiration from many Namibians and equally, those in the diaspora. When we recall the consummate grace, humility and humour of Willem Pieters, we are reminded of the capacity of human beings for goodness,” read a statement from PDM.
The statement reads that Venaani was heartened by his (Pieters) moral clarity and by his steadfast commitment to his congregates and the word of God.
“He shall be remembered as a prelate man of the clergy who shared the dreams of the dispossessed, the marginalised and the suffering. Though he has departed, the Honourable Venaani urges all Namibians to continue to draw strength and inspiration from his example.

“His gentle and caring hand shall be dearly missed as many continue to draw guidance from his teachings as a motivational speaker. He embraced all who had ever felt the cold wind of exclusion and they in turn embraced him. He sought to emulate Jesus Christ, who embraced all those who society looked down upon and rejected.”
Venaani bade farewell to a respected and gentle soul whose remarkable legacy will endure long after all of us are gone.
“The Honourable Venaani prays that the bereaved family is able to find comfort and strength in the word of the Lord, particularly Matthew 5:4 which reads: ‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.'” – info@namibiadailynews.info
