OTJIWARONGO, 18 MAY – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Otjiwarongo have opened an inquest docket into the death of a two-week old baby girl, whose body was found on Friday morning at her parents’ house in the new Ombili informal settlement.
The deceased baby has been identified as Theresia Mukuniba.
Crime Investigations Coordinator in the Otjozondjupa Region, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas told Nampa in an interview on Friday that Mukuniba’s mother allegedly slept next to her on Thursday night, only to find her dead in the morning.
The mother then alerted the police about the incident.
“It is still unknown to us on what killed her and only a post-mortem to be performed will determine the cause of her death,” said Andreas.
Police investigations continue.
